Providing technical input and execution in the areas of
sensing platform development, chemical synthesis, and formulations design. You will also help
and/or lead in the creation of testing protocols to validate products. Your work will be
performed as part of a cross-functional team, so expertise in prototype engineering, molecular
diagnostics and/or manufacturing would be a plus.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities

? Sensing platform design and execution, including chemical synthesis, formulations
development, laboratory testing and data analysis.
? Assay development and generation of standard operating procedures.
? Rapid prototyping and systems development in an Agile environment.
? Communication with internal and external stakeholders for requirements gathering,
results reporting and field testing.
? Mentoring and directing the research of BS/MS level chemists and engineers.
? Competitive analysis to identify and validate new product opportunities.
? Literature reviews to determine the parameter space for sensing formulations and
? Doctoral degree in Chemistry (Organic/Physical) or a related discipline.
? Strong background in luminescent processes and techniques.
? Demonstrated aptitude in chemical and/or materials synthesis.
? Skilled in experimental design and results interpretation.
? Experience with statistical analysis tools such as Excel and/or MATLAB.
? Ability to rapidly prototype materials, formulations and assays in an Agile environment.
? Excellent communication skills and mentoring proficiency.
? Cross-functional or multi-disciplinary skills and abilities.
? Prior experience with product design, prototyping and testing.
? 5+ years work experience in a wet chemistry laboratory environment, preferably
including leadership/mentoring roles.
